FAQ

What is BorB?

BorB is a decentralized short-term derivatives trading platform built on blockchain.

Is BorB custodial?

No, BorB is a non-custodial protocol. This means that your tokens are in your possession and always accessible. BorB is also permisionless, meaning that our smart contracts can be interacted with, even in the absence of the team.

How my profit is calculated?

Your profit from a trade can be up to 100% of the investment amount. The percentage depends on the current yield of the liquidity pool. If liquidity pool earnings fall or become negative, the payout percentage decreases.

What is the liquidity pool?

Liquidity pools are pools of tokens locked in smart contracts that provide liquidity. Your profit from successful trades is formed from these pools. The profitability of pools should be 2-4%. In this case, successful traders take money from unsuccessful ones, and liquidity providers earn on volumes.

What is the minimum/maximum amount that I can invest?

The minimum amount to invest in a single trade is $1. The maximum amount in a single trade is $100,000.

Are there any fees?

No, BorB is commission-free contract trading platform. You just need to pay extra gas fee for auto claiming transaction.

The round's result changed after the round ended! Why?

Sometimes, after a round closes, the final result may be different from the chart interface while the round was live. This is because we use the ChainLink Oracle price feed to determine the final outcome of a round and the Oracle refreshes every 60 seconds. It's possible that during this short period, the Oracle might send an update while the transaction to trigger the calculating is being minted.

What are you using for your price feed?

BorB uses the ChainLink Oracle price feed to set the prices used to dictate whether a user has won or not. This updates in intervals of 60 seconds.

What happens if the open price and closing price are the exact same?

In the very rare occurrence that the Open Price is exactly the same as the Close Price, you lose, and all funds entered into positions will be sent to the liquidity pool.

Can I change or remove my position?

No. Once you enter a position, you can NOT change the direction, add to, or remove your position. It's locked in, so make sure you're 100% happy with your position direction before confirming. But you can open a new position any time.

What does it mean when markets are paused?

Markets are paused when there are conditions which affect the reliability of the contract. Markets being paused means that no bets will be taking place for any rounds.

What causes BorB market to pause?

The market will pause under the following conditions:

  • The contract has been unable to obtain the price from the ChainLink oracle due to the oracle not having posted the price at the time the round has ended.

  • The contract has been unable to execute an action (ending a round or getting a price from the oracle) due to the tx being stuck in the mempool for longer than 15 blocks.

What happens to my position if the market pauses?

If the markets pause while you have a live position, your funds will be refund automatically.

What does pending mean?

Although the "Pending" status indicates that the position is still undergoing confirmation on the blockchain. In actual, the expiry price and the realised profit and loss (PnL) have been confirmed. Please be patient as you wait for the transaction settlement to be completed and recorded on the blockchain.
